About The Parks Canada Players

The Parks Canada Players are about to begin their 5th season and the
theatrical series keeps getting bigger and bigger. What started with one show
with three actors at Laurier House National Historic Site in Ottawa, has grown
to five different shows with over 70 performances across Eastern Ontario with
a troupe that sometime
s exceeds 15 actors and performers.

Over the years,
the troupe has performed shows with themes such as the
War of 1812, the Upper Canada Rebellions, the spiritualism of William Lyon
Mackenzie King and the personal life of Sir John A. Macdonald
, among many
other topics. Each year the troupe brings a new and exciting series of
interactive and dynamic plays to the public and the summer of 2008 is no
different. From July to September, the troupe will be performing across
Eastern Ontario entertaining thousands of locals and tourists at Parks
Canada's
park and historic sites.

With the Rideau Canal being designated a World Heritage Site in 2007, a
new show will be offered this summer to commemorate the history, legends
and folklore of this famous heritage site.
"Ghosts and Echoes of the
Rideau"
will be offered both in Ottawa and Kingston. See the show schedule
page for more information. As well, new shows are in the works for Laurier
House, Fort Wellington and the St. Lawrence Islands.

See you in 2008!
